UX Designer, UI Designer, Artist, Human
Thanks for stopping by
I’m a designer with a little over 5 years of experience creating digital platforms, mobile applications, and websites. I’ve worked for startups, on SaaS platforms, and on short-term freelance projects. I hold a B.F.A. in Graphic Design & Studio Arts and will have my M.S. in User Experience in Spring 2025.
I’m looking for a company to grow with, I am at a point in my life where I value stability and work-life balance. Put in the most cringe way possible, I’m looking for a nice company to settle down with… I am a fast learner and a team player, and I throw myself into everything I do. All I’m missing is a company I can devote myself to. Maybe that’s you.
What Drives me
I believe products should work for the people who use them, not the other way around.
People are relying more and more on technology. It’s a tool that helps us better our lives but its also a source of stress and frustration. I believe products should be beautiful but also useable for the greatest audience possible. When you make something accessible for the highest need user, you often make it better for the masses. So why don’t we do that more?
Who Am I
I am a Stakeholder, I will fight for my users while balancing the needs of my client.
I view the world through lenses of usability and empathy. I believe we should strive for the best experience possible while keeping reality in mind; sometimes, we have to compromise and go for the small win now so we will be around to go big later. This is a lesson I learned working in the startup world.
What I can do
I am a skill collector. I am always looking for ways to create better products so, much like a sponge, I absorb everything.
I have dabbled in several different disciplines of design over the last 10 years of education, internships, and professional experience. As a result, I’ve collected a wide range of skills; some useful, some interesting, and some downright weird.
My Timeline
Started BFA from Colorado Mesa University
Started with Graphic Design but kept adding majors because I love learning and have no self-control.
Started working as an intern for CMU
I worked in a few different departments, mostly the Community Education Center doing general office tasks at first but then also for the 437CO Gallery doing showcard designs.
Art Assistant for Action Publishing
Summer internship where I designed custom content for planners, presented to clients, proofed prints, and packaged assets for mass production.
Designer & Engraver for TE Metal Works
This was my first real design job. It was for a small local company and was challenging but very rewarding. My trainer quit a couple of days into my tenure, so I taught myself the machinery and developed my own processes. I did custom designs and vectorizing for clients, ran the engraver and plasma table, and launched a new industrial engraving line of business.
Graduated Dual Major BFA from Colorado Mesa University
Graphic Design, Visual Concentration
Studio Arts, Ceramic Concentration
Art History (need 2 more classes to complete)
In-House Graphic, Web, & UI/UX Designer for Simvisr Startup
I was head-hunted for this position by an employee who had seen a few websites I had designed and built in WordPress. It started as an in-house designer for websites managed by the company, but I was quickly moved over to the development side of the business to start doing basic UI/UX design.
UI/UX Designer for Pria Startup
When I was laid-off from Simvisr, I was asked to join the new startup being founded by Jared McClure (Simvisr Consultant)as a Production UI/UX Designer.
Started MS in User Experience from Arizona State University
I wanted to expand my UX knowledge and connect the pieces I had collected over my years in startups. I love the field and love the work so it was a logical progression for me.
Freelance UI/UX Designer via my LLC, MudMake Art & Design
I was laid off from Pria, so I started accepting smaller freelance projects while working on my MS in UX Design.
Expected Graduation MS in User Experience from Arizona State University
Hire me! I learned so much that added depth to the context I already had from my work in the field. I’m ready and will work hard for you and your business.
